Brief:
Forty Gavels is the three-volume biography of Illinois AFL-CIO President Reuben Soderstrom and the Organized Labor Movement he helped shape. The book has garnered critical praise, and has won over a dozen awards for biography, historical nonfiction, and design. From 2014 to 2019, I worked for CWS Publishing as Co-Author, Project Manager, and Marketing Specialist engaged in web and print design.
As Co-Author, I conducted primary research, edited drafts, and created original content. I also coordinated the efforts of multiple authors, editors, graphic designers and support staff as Project Manager to bring the text to publication. I created award-winning sites for the book and its associated nonprofit, the RGS Foundation, as well as the series' eBook.
After publication, I executed a marketing plan that resulted in broad distribution and multiple awards. I also engaged in print design, creating posters, advertisements and collateral for various events and publications.
